the selection of ethnic representative for Member of Parliament
Participant: Boe Sein Tin, Ko Tha Lin- youth representative from ethnic group
Boe: Hey Tha Lin. I heard something about the election that will held this year.
Lin: Yes uncle. The government is urging the people to vote for them in correct choice.
Boe: Is this mean you are also participating in the election? U Aung San daughter’s party is still oppressed by the government. And at this point you are going to dance as a monkey got coconut and plan to run the election after releasing this electoral law??
Lin: No uncle, it is not true. This government likes to be praised and we should know what they like.
Boe: Boy! I am warning you. Than Shwe’s chair which did not move after the strength of Nargis hit and you are going to make Than Shwe’s chair stronger by supporting this election.
Lin: Oh uncle! The military are so lonely. Do you think we should participate with them?
Boe: Do you still remember that they are making our lives worse? Boy, you are still young. Let me tell you a true story. They select the people who dance according to their song. The constitution is approved and written with those people only. None of the people could suggest anything for constitution. You all are younger generation of our country, but... I don’t want to be human being under this government. I feel shame to say that I am a Burmese.
Lin: Let it be uncle. If you could not dance according to their song, we won’t get chance to be in parliament.
Boe: What? Are you going to spend your precious time and your ability joining in this empty election?
Lin: Oh uncle! No one is happy to participate under this government? But this is the time we will be able to make the changes we need to do.
Boe: So! Are you going to kill the people by participating in this?
Lin: Oh uncle!!
Boe: Don’t call me uncle now! Aren’t you helping government in making the country worse than before?
Lin: What we are supposed to do then? Should we sit and watch without participating in the election?
Boe: Look! We cannot clap only with one hand. The government can not hold the election by themselves. So, the civilians like you and me and all should not participate in this unfair election.
Lin: What do you mean uncle? Do you want to say the government can not hold the election alone?
Boe: You see? our young generation is not so bad! Don’t you think we should not participate in this election, knowing this election will not bring any good and benefit for the people?
Lin: I can understand now. It is very clear now uncle.
